Even though ChatGPT continues to make waves on the Internet, it may come at a cost.
On Saturday, some users took to social media after discovering a new "Upgrade plan" option on the ChatGPT web interface, which when clicked threw up a prompt with two plans.
Where Chat GPT Free Plan allows you to continue using ChatGPT as you have in the past,
but a new Professional Plan allows you to expand the AI chatbot's capabilities with less demanding availability, more rapid response times, and "priority access to new features."
OpenAI had not disclosed pricing details at the time, the Professional Plan has been listed for $42 per month - no easy one-time cost here.
A recent report said that the Open AI spends $100K per day or $3 Million per month on Chat GPT running cost, so monetization was inescapable.
