The most precise picture of Jupiter, the king of our solar system, was finally taken by the James Webb Space Telescope

Are you aware of this? A picture of Jupiter like this had never been taken before. NASA has also seen this image taken by the James Webb Space Telescope, and NASA claims Jupiter is the king of the solar system. We have all been taught since childhood that Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system. It’s also a type of gaseous planet.

What makes Jupiter so unique in this image from the James Webb Telescope?

As you are probably aware, storms always remain in Jupiter’s atmosphere. However, Jupiter’s stormy Great Red Spot, rings, aurora reflection, and aurora at the north and south poles were not visible in any of the images to date. This is the first time the James Webb Telescope (JWST) has captured such an accurate image of Jupiter. The two small natural satellites of Jupiter, as well as the galaxies behind them, are clearly visible in this image. This is an incredible picture.

Aside from Jupiter, what makes it unique?

The brightness of the aurora, or Northern and Southern Lights, is visible in this image at Jupiter’s north and south poles. Aside from that, all parts of this planet are visible in a line in a wide-field image. Its dim ring, as well as its two satellites, the moons Amalthea and Adrastea. Shiny stars can be seen in the galaxy behind them.

Who processes this image?

Actually, the photo you’re looking at right now was taken by James Webb Telescope on July 27, 2022. This image was captured in infrared format. Judy Smit, a Citizen Scientist from California, later processed the photo and published it. That was unexpected. another shade of the planet Jupiter has emerged in this image. The Great Red Spot, which is normally red, is seen in white in it.

Imke de Petter, a University of California Berkeley professor, and Planetary Astronomer stated that such an image of Jupiter has never been seen before. It is wonderful and unparalleled. Its details are so fine that we can clearly see everything. professor Imke de Petter worked on this image with Judy Smit and then released it.

By the way, we did not expect to see such a clear picture of this house because the photo was taken from so many satellites, but it was not.

According to Professor Imke de Petter, this was not the expected appearance of Jupiter. However, James Webb Telescope’s Near Infrared Camera (NIRCam) captured a wide-field image of Jupiter. In which its ring and both moons can be seen. According to scientists, this image demonstrates the sensitivity of James Webb’s infrared camera.

Since Jupiter is so far away from our planet, it is extremely difficult to reach it and photograph it. The rings of Jupiter are a million times fainter than the planet’s light. Amalthea and Adrastia, the planet’s moons, are also 200 and 20 kilometers away, respectively. It is extremely difficult to gather such information. Judy Smit stated,

“When I first started working on this photo, I realized how beautiful it was going to be.” Then I didn’t see hours or days. This image has been processed in every way possible, and what you have in front of you is the best.
